The opening reception will be held at the Statler (Yale/Princeton rooms)
on Sunday (5/4/2003, 7-10pm). Hors d'oeuvres, featuring NY foods
and sufficient for dinner, will be served. Soft drinks, local wines
and beers will be available. Dessert and coffee will also be
served. The cost is included in the meeting's registration fee.
The banquet will take place at Taughannock Farms Inn, a Victorian hotel overlooking a state park along NY Rte. 89 about 10 km north of Ithaca on the west shore of Cayuga Lake near a 70-m waterfall. In lieu of a banquet speaker, weather willing, we will walk on a trail into the waterfall with few local geology experts; the Finger Lakes are renowned geological sites for glacial terrain. The region displays both Devonian statigraphy and Quaternary geomorphology. Buses will leave the Statler at 5:30pm (for the hike or early stop at the lounge) and 6:30pm (dinner only). Some may prefer to drive privately. Dinner will be served at 7:30pm. The cost, including transportation, will be $50. The meal will include appetizer (soup or sausage plate), salad, entree (Portobella mushroom Wellington, roast pork loin or roast turkey), dessert (peppermint ice cream roulade, chocolate mousse or blackberry trifle), two glasses of local wine and unlimited coffee/tea/soft drinks. On registration, please select your entree.
The ampitheater has state-of-the-art facilities. We will have two overhead projectors (one for large screen, one for small), two slide projectors and an LCD projector. Please alert email@example.com for any special needs by no later than 1 May.
The desks in the ampitheater each have ethernet connections. The poster room will also have internet access.
We have one wall that can hold ten posters. On the opposite side of the room we will use easels plus poster boards for another ten posters. The room has internet access.
